I have been a figurative painter and a musician for almost thirty years. I follow the same approach in both art forms : study the masters to learn the craft, and over time, through repetition, allow my artistic identity to emerge. I particularly draw inspiration from baroque painters and pianists. Portraiture has always been my preferred genre. In this era of quickly produced and consumed imagery, slowly brushing pigments and oil on a piece of canvas to make a face appear feels almost reactionary. I’m not too worried about generative AI replacing the work of artists : it will. I just focus on making the best possible paintings in the meantime.

In my spare time I also work in capital markets.
